Just a couple of weeks ago, we (Lynne & Rod Lovey Dovey UK, Steve & Gareth Embrace Wedding Videography and Les & Katie Clixx Photography) were invited to attend the grand opening of the new bedroom/spa extension at Llechwen Hall Hotel. Records date back to the 17th century for this popular wedding venue and hotel, and the new facade blends perfectly with the traditional building which is home to 24 new bedrooms and coming soon, a spa area.
The investment in this improvement has been significant, but no surprise. Since the current owners took over the hotel in 2008, the investment has been continual. Practically every January for a few weeks the Hotel is closed for refurbishment; and that has been for everything from a lick of paint to the building of the outstanding and extremely popular Garden Marquee. The owners are very committed to making Llechwen Hall one of the most inspirational places to visit whether that is for a romantic night away, business trip, afternoon tea or wedding.
The day of the opening we were treated to arrival drinks and the most delicious canapes made on site by their fantastic head chef Paul Trask and his brigade...at this point, we feel the need to give a massive shout out to his home made Halen Mon salted chocolate brownies, they are just unbelievable and you will never know what you are missing until you try them!
Caerphilly County Borough Mayor Julian Simmonds cut the ribbon and we all followed him with haste to snoop around the new bedrooms. We were really impressed how the building was in keeping with the traditional aspect of the main house, but was home to the most fabulous contemporary bedrooms with all you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The smallest of detail was well thought out, and Welshness was in abundance through the hand made throws and cushions right down to the luxury toiletries from Cole & Co. There are doubles with gorgeous bathrooms and even adjoining family rooms; are all beautifully decorated, comfortable and peacefully appointed, your stay here would more than meet the high expectations of the most discerning of traveller.
After a wonderful sleepover, breakfast was as usual varied using top quality local ingredients, and cooked to your liking.
Llechwen is all about promoting its Welsh heritage, suppliers and produce. Their restaurant serves dishes made from local farms and suppliers at every opportunity. They make their own jam, and have bees producing the most delicious honey.
So, if you think you know Llechwen Hall Hotel, and haven't paid a visit for some time, make a note to go. Whether that is to dine in their gorgeous oak beamed orangery, host a party, baby shower or birthday, stay the night or book a wedding or event you will be given the warmest of welcomes from a fantastic team.
...and talking of which, their fantastic team is working with our fantastic team on October 2nd for our Exclusive Evening Wedding Showcase.
